I am a wild one break me in, saddle me up and let’s begin, I am a wild one tame me now, Running with wolves, I’m on the prowl.
You all know about my musical hussyness. I’ve talked about it a few times. I’m not one of those women that goes for empty headed singers with empty headed lyrics. The lyrics have to mean something to me. I’ll sit in the car to finish listening to a song and then bawl my head off after it’s over. Or I’ll put my Ipod on and just listen to the same song over and over. Music just gets to me. So imagine my surprise when I fell in love with the song Wild Ones by Flo-Rida. It wasn’t so much about what he was singing/rapping about, because it’s kinda shallow. It was more about what Sia was singing about. About being wild and being reined in. I really identified with what she was saying. Because back in the day I was a wild girl. And then I met this wonderful man that decided he’d take me on. With all my wild, my crazy, my energy, my brokenness, my passion.
I lost that wildness along the way. With life came responsibilities and changes. But I still wished for that wild side to come back to me. Little by little it has. Passion is growing, life is good, and I’m feeling so free. I have a voice, and I use it. I’m heard and I’m believed. So for all you wild girls out there, know that I love you. Know that you can still be wild even as you get older. I am and that man of mine is still right beside me, cheering me on. I see it in my daughter too and that makes me so proud. So press play on the video link, crank up the volume and dance. We wild girls are the passionate ones, even when we are in our 40’s and beyond….
